We’ve put together a list of frequently asked questions to help plan your trip to Death Valley National Park. We want to make sure you feel fully prepared for your visit to The Oasis at Death Valley. Here are a few things to keep in mind as you plan your stay:

Wi-Fi & Cell Service
Wi-Fi is available to all registered guests and included in the daily resort fee. Please note that service is intentionally limited in some areas of the property, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the natural surroundings. We recommend checking your cell phone provider’s coverage map in advance for anticipated service in our remote desert location.

Power
Given our remote location, brief power outages may occasionally occur. Limited generator support is available on property, and our team is always nearby to assist should an interruption arise.

Outdoor Lighting & Dark Skies
In support of the National Park Service’s dark sky initiative, outdoor lighting is thoughtfully minimized and may be limited or unavailable in certain areas. We encourage guests to bring a headlamp or flashlight to comfortably navigate the grounds after sunset — and to enjoy the remarkable night skies above Death Valley.

Water Refill Stations
As part of our commitment to a softer environmental footprint, water refill stations are conveniently located throughout the property. We invite you to bring a reusable water bottle, or select one from our retail boutique upon arrival.

Cashless Resort
The Oasis at Death Valley operates as a cashless resort. We happily accept all major credit and debit cards throughout the property.

McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, NV is located 120 miles southeast of The Oasis at Death Valley. A 3,065-foot airstrip suitable for private aircraft is located adjacent to the resort. Complimentary van transfers are available to the Inn & Ranch from the airstrip and can be booked by calling 760-786-2345. Please view our Directions page for more information.

Yes, there are four EV chargers located at The Ranch and two EV chargers at The Inn. Please note that all chargers are standard (Level 2) chargers and typically take about 12 hours to fully charge an electric vehicle.

We do not have Tesla-specific chargers onsite. For more information, guests can contact the Front Desk or search online for Tesla Superchargers or other charging stations located outside of Death Valley.

EV charging, internet and cell phones are reliant on a 3rd party and are not guaranteed with the property being in such a remote location.

Death Valley National Park is open year-round, as are the Ranch at Death Valley and The Inn at Death Valley.

Death Valley is renowned for being one of the driest and hottest places on earth. During the summer temperatures can be 120°F or over. Evenings generally stay around a comfortable 80°F. We recommend that you wear sunscreen, broad-brimmed hats, and always carry water with you.

It is not until October that the heat starts to die down. During the short winters, the temperature is about 65°-72°F during the day. Nights are colder ranging from the mid 30°s to low 40°s. Death Valley gets less than 2 inches of precipitation a year; if there is any chance of rain, it will occur during the winter. We advise that you watch for a flash flood if it does rain. We advise you to check for current forecasts as the weather can fluctuate.

The Oasis at Death Valley uses an application powered by Canary Technologies to offer Pre-Arrival Check-In enhance the guest experience by simplifying the check-in process. This is not required but can significantly decrease the amount of time at the check-in front desk!

Cell phone service is available at the resort through most service providers. WiFi is included in the daily resort fee and is available to all registered guests.

Inn guests have access to a small business center located on the second level.

There are no laundry facilities at either hotel, however, the cottages at the Ranch have European-style washer and dryers.

The National Park Service currently charges $30 per private vehicle, for 7 days. Fees may be paid at Furnace Creek Visitor Center or remote fee-collection locations within the park. When entering by foot, bicycle, motorcycle, or commercial vehicle the fee will vary. Please visit National Park Service for the most current fee information. The service station at The Oasis at Death Valley offers regular, high test and diesel fuels. Aviation fuel is not available at the Furnace Creek Airport.

We accept reservations for stays up to 13 months in advance. On the first of each month, we will begin accepting reservations for the entire month of the following year. For example, on March 1 we will accept reservations through March 31 the following year. For more information, please visit our Reservations page.

Yes, you can modify and cancel your hotel reservations online. We recommend you modify or cancel your reservation online when possible. Use our online reservation system to sign-in. You may retrieve your reservation via the below “Modify or cancel an existing reservation” button, click “Modify & Cancel” and follow the prompts to login with your email address and password. If you have not setup an online profile with a password, please click on “Find my reservation” and follow the prompts with the required details.

Yes! Transferring a reservation to another person is considered a third-party reservation. Please contact a live agent to make these changes. Our contact information can be found here.

The Ranch offers a total of six accessible rooms, four with grab bars and two with roll-in showers. The Inn offers five accessible rooms, all equipped with roll-in showers. Please call Central Reservations (888) 774-2728 for additional details, availability and to reserve an accessible room.

We do not offer a waitlist for room reservations.

Cancellations do occur; however, they can occur at random with limited success in obtaining the dates and accommodations desired. If your first choice is not available, rather than scheduling your vacation around the possibility of a cancellation, we suggest checking alternate dates instead. If you want to continue to check for cancellations, you may do so by visiting our Online Reservations page.

You can use our online reservation system system to sign-in. You may retrieve your reservation via the below “Modify or cancel an existing reservation” button, click “Modify & Cancel” and follow the prompts to login with your email address and password. If you have not setup an online profile with a password, please click on “Find my reservation” and follow the prompts with the required details. If the reservation has been made through another website, company, or travel agency, please contact them directly for any modifications, cancellations or specific questions regarding your reservation.

You can check-in at any time past check-in hours, the front desk is open 24/7 at both The Ranch and The Inn. The Front Desk at The Ranch is located inside the Town Hall (follow “Registration” signage).

Cooking is not allowed in any of the guestrooms at both the Inn and the Ranch at Death Valley.

Pets of any kind are not permitted at the Oasis at Death Valley resort; only service animals are allowed. See Pets in the Park (www.nps.gov/deva) for visiting Death Valley National Park with pets.

Dinner reservations are strongly recommended for the Inn Dining Room and can be made online from the DINE page. Reservations are not required for breakfast or lunch at the Inn or any of the dining options at the Ranch at Death Valley.

Guns are not allowed at any Xanterra properties or on any tours. For more information on Firearm policies within the National Parks, visit the National Park Service website.

Yes! Both pools at The Inn and The Ranch are open year-round to guests of the resort. They are natural spring-fed pools maintained at a temperature of 87°F year-round and are open daily from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM. An ADA lift is available.
